I set up Cotswold Baking because pastry has been a passion in my life since the age of 14. That was when I got my first job working in a local bakery, in my home town in Somerset. Setting up my own bakery in the Cotswolds and creating delicious cakes from first class ingredients is like a dream come true.
My main apprenticeship was served under the guiding hands of Michel Roux Snr at The Waterside Inn in Bray. I could not have asked for a better person to school me in all things Patisserie.
My wife SJ and I moved to Oxfordshire in 2000 when we took over the running of The Falkland Arms, in Great Tew, a landmark pub in the Cotswolds. Having spent eight wonderful years there it was time for a change.
After spending some time cooking for other Deli’s and restaurants, in 2011 I decided I wanted to bring quality Cakes and Desserts to peoples’ front doors, so I opened up my own Bakery and Cotswold Baking was born. I am passionate about quality, and fresh ingredients, which we have an abundance of here in the Cotswolds.
We use as much quality local produce as possible from https://www.fwpmatthews.co.uk/ flour to https://cotteswold-dairy.co.uk/ for our milk and cream, we use the worlds leading manufacture of high quality chocolate and cocoa products https://www.barry-callebaut.com/en-GB/group/about-us for all our chocolate Cakes and Desserts and Tray Bakes, and when in season we use the walnuts, hazelnuts and apples grown on the farm where our Bakery is based.
We can supply to private clients, be it an individual cake or dessert for your guests afternoon tea or an extra special treat for your office. I also supply wholesale cakes and tray bakes to cafes, farm shops and deli’s
We currently have a stall at Deddington Farmers Market once a month, where you can purchase portions of our desserts and cakes and also talk to us about things you would like us to bake specifically for you.
We are also specialise in creating wonderful Wedding Cakes and Croquembouche’s for that special day
One of the things that gives me so much satisfaction is watching the joy on people’s faces when they get to taste something I have produced, not a lot of words just a lot of ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhs’!
So, if you are looking for something special for home or as a gift, or you would like to discuss ideas for your business, give me a ring or drop us an e-mail.
We look forward to baking for you.
Thanks
